4 Years Down And Many More To Come

I know I'm about a week late on this post but unfortunately I've been sick for the past week with a nasty viral mess. Last Tuesday, May 5th, Taylor and I had our 4 year anniversary. We weren't really able to celebrate on the 5th with me being under the weather but we were able to finally head out this past Saturday. We went to the Harvest at Thanksgiving Point and had a nice, quiet dinner together. I really feel so incredibly lucky to be married to such a wonderful person. We have our ups and downs and through it all I know we love each other more and more every day. Its so much fun to spend every day with my best friend. Just last night he came to bed at 3:00 am and woke me up. We stayed up talking and laughing for a half an hour about how we knew we had to get up early for work today but we were just enjoying being together talking. So with 4 crazy years behind us I can't help but wonder how amazing the years to come will be. Happy Anniversary Babe. I love you!!

Confession

After telling myself over and over again that I would not give in and get hooked on those cheesy vampire books that everyone has been raving about, I caved. While not feeling well about a month back I borrowed Twilight from my sister. I mainly wanted to read it just to see what all of the hype was about and now I'm addicted. Yes, I am a Twilight addict. I can't put it down. I made Taylor go out and buy me all of the books as I am sure that I will want to read them again several times over. I even made him buy me the movie without even seeing it before the purchase. I don't know what it is. I find myself laughing at the cheesy love scenes in the book and yet I can't seem to put it down. What will I be hooked on next that I swore I would never get into? Facebook, Myspace? Who knows but for now I'll just stick to my Twilight addiction.

Sooo Excited

When I found out they were coming I knew I had to go. I got tickets to see Billy Joel and Elton John and I'm stoked!!! Tickets were a little pricey but can you really put a price on seeing not one but two musical legends? November seems so far away but I know it's going to be great.

Only Me

Ok this story is hilarious now that I'm looking back at it and no longer in pain. Last weekend Taylor and I headed down to Mesquite with my mom and Nolan for a little weekend get away. Wednesday night was spent packing up for our little trip. Now our apartment is really old and has radiant heat. While I am not the nudist that my husband seems to be, it can get extremely hot in our apartment. So while we were packing I decided to take off the pants and just hang out in my long tee shirt. No harm in that right? That was until I tried to step over the suitcase that I conveniently left right in the door way of the bedroom. Logged nicely between the dresser and the wall. In my attempt to step over the suitcase, at the time it seemed so much easier than moving it, I managed to catch my bare bottom on the corner of the dresser. My eyes instantly started swelling up with water and then I heard it. The words you never want to hear when wounded. "Don't look down at it" came right out of Taylor's mouth. Of course it's natural to look at that point. So I did and I ended up with a good 6 inch cut on my BUTT! As I laid there on the bed while my husband treated my wound he said " you'll laugh about this tomorrow." I looked up at him with tears in my eyes laughing and just said "Screw tomorrow I'm laughing now." So now in the week since the incident my behind has bled, scabbed, bruised and healed all because I was too lazy to move the suitcase. It hurt like hell but we are sure getting a good laugh at it now.

Amazing Friends

As I was checking out all of the blogs on my buddy list today I realized how many amazing friends I have. Who at 26 years old, can still say that they are still in contact will all of their best friends from elementary school? I still talk to my friends from middle school and high school too. Even though life has taken us all in so many directions, we still keep in contact the best way that we can. Blogging has been a huge help with that. And even though we don't call each other everyday like we use to, I know that I could call any one of you at anytime and you would all be there for me. So to all my wonderful friends I just wanted to say thanks for your amazing friendships. I have so many great memories with you all and I cherish the friendships that we have.

75 And Still Kickin It!

Last week was my Grandma Darlene's 75th Birthday! If you know this women you would never know that she was in her mid 70's. She has more energy and is far more active than I am. My Aunt Michelle threw my grandma a surprise party with all of her friends and family. She had no idea that it was happening and the look on her face when she walked in was priceless. The best part of the night was having my Aunt Steph who came up from Phoenix and my cousin Laura who flew up from Mexico, there. My grandma hasn't seen Steph in 5 years so it was a great gift for her. My grandma is the most amazing person I know. She is far more than a grandmother to me. She is more like a mother. She has been there for me since the day I was born. Helping to take care of me and making me the person that I am today. I love her so much and hope she has many more years of rollerblading and bike riding in her.

The Wooby

If you have ever seen the movie Mr. Mom then you know what a wooby is. In the movie they call their kid's security blankets woobies. The name has stuck with my family ever since my mom saw that movie. Every kid had their own wooby growing up. And now the wooby tradition has been passed on. Moxley has her very own wooby. It all started with some super soft jammies that I had. Every time I did the laundry Moxley would pull these jammy pants out of the basket, scratch them into a ball, and lay right in the middle. She just loved the material. I was able to find a baby blanket that was the same material and she hasn't parted with it since. She loves her wooby. If you ask her where her wooby is, she will run to it. If you pick it up, she'll sit pretty for you. This means she wants you to wrap her up in it and hold her. I never thought that a dog could have an attachment to a blanket like kids do but she sure does.

BIG NEWS!!

Some of you may have heard but I know that for others this is still news. Nope it's not a baby. Sorry to disappoint ;) It's even better than that! Last weekend Taylor and I moved into an apartment. We have lived with his parents for the past year and a half and while it's been good for us to be there and save money while he was going to school, it was time for us to get back to being just us. Not that there was anything wrong with living with his parents, we just were ready to be on our own again. We found a super cute place in Murray. It's right around the corner from my aunt Michelle's house in our favorite neighborhood. We hope to someday own a house in this same neighborhood. Anyway, the place is gigantic. A whole 720 sq ft! I thought it would be hard to go back to living in a one bedroom apartment after owning my own 2000 sq ft townhouse but, I love it. Maybe it's just that I have my own place again but, I really don't have anything bad to say about this place. It was built in the 50's so it doesn't have some of the amenities that I would like it to (i.e. no dishwasher and no washer/dryer hookups) but it does have a ton of character. It still has the original metal cabinets and hexagon tiles on the counter tops. The building only has 11 units which is really nice for Moxley. The fewer people she has to adjust to the better. Overall I think that she is adjusting well. She misses Trouble (Taylor's parents yellow lab) but other than that she is doing really well here in her own space. These pictures really don't do the place justice. It's much nicer than it looks. Oh and please forgive the insane pile of dishes in the sink. That's what happens when you don't have a dishwasher.

Birthdays

I know it's been a while since my last post but life has been CRAZY BUSY!

Since Taylor's birthday is January 10th, my birthday is January 14th and Jackie's birthday is January 7th, we decided to go out the week of our birthdays. We went to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner. It was super yummy. They brought out our cheesecake and wrote happy birthday in chocolate on out plates It was pretty cool. Taylor's parents go him an apron that says "Real men bleed blue." The perfect gift for a BYU/Colts fan. They got me a new yellow cover for my Miche bag. All in all I think that we had some pretty good birthdays.

P.S. Looking at this pic I'm thinkin I probably could have done without the cheesecake. YIKES! :)
