Amazing Friends

As I was checking out all of the blogs on my buddy list today I realized how many amazing friends I have. Who at 26 years old, can still say that they are still in contact will all of their best friends from elementary school? I still talk to my friends from middle school and high school too. Even though life has taken us all in so many directions, we still keep in contact the best way that we can. Blogging has been a huge help with that. And even though we don't call each other everyday like we use to, I know that I could call any one of you at anytime and you would all be there for me. So to all my wonderful friends I just wanted to say thanks for your amazing friendships. I have so many great memories with you all and I cherish the friendships that we have.

75 And Still Kickin It!

Last week was my Grandma Darlene's 75th Birthday! If you know this women you would never know that she was in her mid 70's. She has more energy and is far more active than I am. My Aunt Michelle threw my grandma a surprise party with all of her friends and family. She had no idea that it was happening and the look on her face when she walked in was priceless. The best part of the night was having my Aunt Steph who came up from Phoenix and my cousin Laura who flew up from Mexico, there. My grandma hasn't seen Steph in 5 years so it was a great gift for her. My grandma is the most amazing person I know. She is far more than a grandmother to me. She is more like a mother. She has been there for me since the day I was born. Helping to take care of me and making me the person that I am today. I love her so much and hope she has many more years of rollerblading and bike riding in her.

The Wooby

If you have ever seen the movie Mr. Mom then you know what a wooby is. In the movie they call their kid's security blankets woobies. The name has stuck with my family ever since my mom saw that movie. Every kid had their own wooby growing up. And now the wooby tradition has been passed on. Moxley has her very own wooby. It all started with some super soft jammies that I had. Every time I did the laundry Moxley would pull these jammy pants out of the basket, scratch them into a ball, and lay right in the middle. She just loved the material. I was able to find a baby blanket that was the same material and she hasn't parted with it since. She loves her wooby. If you ask her where her wooby is, she will run to it. If you pick it up, she'll sit pretty for you. This means she wants you to wrap her up in it and hold her. I never thought that a dog could have an attachment to a blanket like kids do but she sure does.

BIG NEWS!!

Some of you may have heard but I know that for others this is still news. Nope it's not a baby. Sorry to disappoint ;) It's even better than that! Last weekend Taylor and I moved into an apartment. We have lived with his parents for the past year and a half and while it's been good for us to be there and save money while he was going to school, it was time for us to get back to being just us. Not that there was anything wrong with living with his parents, we just were ready to be on our own again. We found a super cute place in Murray. It's right around the corner from my aunt Michelle's house in our favorite neighborhood. We hope to someday own a house in this same neighborhood. Anyway, the place is gigantic. A whole 720 sq ft! I thought it would be hard to go back to living in a one bedroom apartment after owning my own 2000 sq ft townhouse but, I love it. Maybe it's just that I have my own place again but, I really don't have anything bad to say about this place. It was built in the 50's so it doesn't have some of the amenities that I would like it to (i.e. no dishwasher and no washer/dryer hookups) but it does have a ton of character. It still has the original metal cabinets and hexagon tiles on the counter tops. The building only has 11 units which is really nice for Moxley. The fewer people she has to adjust to the better. Overall I think that she is adjusting well. She misses Trouble (Taylor's parents yellow lab) but other than that she is doing really well here in her own space. These pictures really don't do the place justice. It's much nicer than it looks. Oh and please forgive the insane pile of dishes in the sink. That's what happens when you don't have a dishwasher.

Birthdays

I know it's been a while since my last post but life has been CRAZY BUSY!

Since Taylor's birthday is January 10th, my birthday is January 14th and Jackie's birthday is January 7th, we decided to go out the week of our birthdays. We went to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner. It was super yummy. They brought out our cheesecake and wrote happy birthday in chocolate on out plates It was pretty cool. Taylor's parents go him an apron that says "Real men bleed blue." The perfect gift for a BYU/Colts fan. They got me a new yellow cover for my Miche bag. All in all I think that we had some pretty good birthdays.

P.S. Looking at this pic I'm thinkin I probably could have done without the cheesecake. YIKES! :)
