Finally At Peace

This morning my grandpa woke up and had my grandma help him to the restroom, just like she always did. When he was done she told him that he should take a shower. He said "ok " and walked over to the shower. When he got there he told my grandma that he was too tired and wanted to go back to bed. She told him to take her shoulder and she would walk him back over to the bed. About 5 steps later my grandpa collapsed and passed away. Even though you know it's coming, nothing can really prepare you for this kind of a loss. My heart aches at the thought of my dad losing his best friend, and my grandma holding my grandpa as he collapsed and died. And having to see my great grandmother weep into her hands and say "I can't believe my only son is gone. He was such a good boy." It has been a very trying and emotional day. Though we know that my grandpa is at peace at last, it's so hard to think that we will never see him again. I know that he is happy and that the cancer is no longer hurting him. Thank you again to all who have kept and continue to keep my family in your thoughts and prayers. It means more than you will ever know.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. It is never easy to lose a loved one but even though he is not with you physically take comfort in the fact that he will always be watching over you. When my Grandma passed away it helped me to celebrate her life by looking at her pictures and things that she held dear. I hope this will also help you get through this trying time. If you need to talk, let me know. My heart goes out to you and your family.

I really hope you are at peace now. I know the loss is hard but at the same time it's a relief. You'll pull through, I promise.

I am so sorry to hear about your Grandpa.
It is so hard when you loose a loved one and the thought of not seeing them is really hard, but just know that you will all be with him again one day. Know that he is watching over all of you right now helping you through this time that is the hardest. I truly beleive that they are with you right after they pass to help you along. I know I felt my brother so many times after he passed away, I had several spiritual experiances when I felt him and it was so comforting. If you need anybody to talk to, I am here, and you and your family are in our prayers!
