I got a call around 4:30 yesterday from my brother telling me that my aunt Cindy had passed away. I was in complete shock! How? What was he talking about? Cindy couldn't be gone. She was barely older then my dad. What could have possibly taken her life? After going to the hospital to meet up with the rest of my family I found out that she had a heart attack but that the doctors don't think that's what for sure took her life. We won't have more answers until an autopsy is done next week.
As I sat there in the waiting room of the hospital with the rest of my family I couldn't help but notice my cousin Alex. Alex is Cindy's only child. While the rest of us wept and sobbed over the loss of a family member she held her composure. Alex is the only one in our family who is active in the LDS church. While we all cried and wanted answers, she had the faith to know that there is a bigger picture and that this happened for a reason. I'm not a religious person by any means so this was difficult for me to understand yet at the same time, I wished I had the faith that she did. I feel terrible knowing that her mom will not be there to see her get married or when she has her babies. She is a 20 year old, only child and her mom is just gone. I can't even imagine having to go through that. I am amazed at how strong Alex is.
Aunt Cindy we will miss your contagious laugh and smile. The family will never be the same with out you. We love you.
